About BIOCHEMISTRY Departments
“Biochemistry reveals what living things are made of and how they work, beginning at the level of atoms and working up through the genes and proteins to the cells, tissues and organs of multicellular life” The Department of Biochemistry offers programmes at Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Research level. The undergraduate programme was started in the year 1994, the postgraduate programme in 1997 and M.Phil Programme in 2014.The syllabus covers a wide range of subjects in the field of Biochemistry and is multidisciplinary in nature incorporating the branches of Microbiology and Biotechnology to enable the students to scope up with the recent developments in the field of Biological Sciences. Similarly practical’s are also scheduled as with the recent developments in the field of Biochemistry. Every year, the department produces consistent Good results,University Gold Medals and University Ranks in both Undergraduate and Postgraduate programme with all the out gone students having secured their degrees. The department has a team of dedicated and experienced faculty which is a highlight. Our alumni are well placed in reputed companies while some are pursuing research and few are employed in diagnostic centers. Students are encouraged to participate and present papers in Seminars and conferences.
