About CHEMISTRY Departments
The Department of Chemistry was established in the year 2005 with B.Sc., M.Sc, 2006 with M.Sc., Organic Chemistry and Degrees and upgraded to Research department, offering FT/PT M.Phil. Apparently the Department aims at elevating the students of Chemistry to attain excellance in the field of research. The Department is led by a team of highly qualified and committed faculty members.

Research
- Dr.Venkateswaramoorthi, Assistant Professor, got the Project fund Rs. 4, 15,000 for his project proposal under minor project scheme from UGC funding Agency, NewDelhi.
- Our faculty Ms. K. Maheshwari and Ms. N. Dharani got funds Rs 1, 65,000 and 1,90,000 for their project proposal under minor project scheme from UGC funding Agency, NewDelhi.

Industrial Visit
- On 16.08.2014 our students visited Tamilnadu Paper Limited (TNPL), Pugalur and Karur District for an industrial exposure.
- On 25.08.14, four faculty and the students of Chemistry went for an industrial visit to Kerala, and Cochin and visited various places.
Seminar
- On 18.08.14, Dr. Krishnan, an eminent Professor in USA, delivered a special lecture on “Computational Biology in the aspects of Mathematics’ for all the science students.
Assembly
- Assembly was conducted on 03.09.2014. The events of the college for previous week were announced in the assembly.
Shakespeare Debate Club
- Shakespeare Debate Club was inaugurated for the Chemistry students. Our Principal Dr. R.K. Vaithiyanathan welcomed the gathering. Our Correspondent Mr. M. Ganapathy and Dean-Academic Dr. K. Periasamy felicitated the function.
- Students of Chemistry took part in the Shakespeare Debating Club regularly.
Quiz Programme
- Department has conducted “CHEM QUIZ - 2014”for I year B.Sc Chemistry students on 31July 2014
Teachers Day
On 5.9.14 Teachers day was celebrated by our Department students. Essay writing, Poem writing and Quiz Competetion were conducted on that day.
OZONE DAY
On 16.09.14 our Department has celebrated world ozone day by “PLANTING A TREE” by Dr.R.K.Vaithiyanathan
Parents Teachers Association
On 18. 9.14 Parents Teachers Meeting was conducted in our department, and the faculties discussed about students’ progress, attendance, and leave taken by the students.
